HI Chetanalites,

          It was 6th of June 2008 when INFOSYS technologies have conducted a on-campus drive at our college KLCE. The exam was conducted by ‘META’ company officials in a complete &truly professional manner. They were obviously strict & also didn’t allow any of the college officials near the exam halls during the examination. The exam was in two sections namely,

1.       RAT – Reasoning Ability Test (30 Questions in 40 minutes )

2.       VAT – Verbal Ability Test (40 Questions in 35 minutes)

R A T : This was the easiest of the two papers. And one can finish it very easily with just a general preparation for the exam.

Questions (1 - 5) : Logical questions like… IF Rahul was 7th from downwards in a line… what would his place be from upwards? All were similar questions… and it takes no time to finish these..

(For practice u can find them in R.S.Agarwal non verbal & Verbal Reasoning) [5 marks]

Questions (6 - 10) : FIGURES , series figures Chapter 1 (Available in R.S. Agarwal non-Verbal Reasoning)
These were also very easy. [5 marks]

Questions (11 - 15) : Data Sufficiency Questions, But the options were all interchanged (One must be very careful at this place)  Otherwise this was also easy. Refer to (R.S.Agarwal non verbal & Verbal Reasoning page Number 655). [5 marks]

Questions (16 - 20) : DATA INTERPRETATION, CAT books of ‘IMS’, ‘Career launcher’ or ‘TIME’ would definitely help in clearing this section which needs good practice to deal with these questions. [5 marks]

Questions (21-25) : PUZZLE…, it was family relationship puzzle  & this time it was a bit easier than those in R.S Agarwal. He asked us like…, there are two couple.. something etc.. (Available in R.S. Agarwal non-Verbal Reasoning) All models are surely covered. [5 marks]

Questions (26-30) : Syllogisms, pretty easy & were direct questioning which u can practice well again from Available in R.S. Agarwal non-Verbal Reasoning  logical part. [5 marks]

V A T :  As Reasoning ability test is dead easy, he has really targeted the students in this part. The paper here is easy or not is the secondary issue, but one would never find time at least to complete the paper. Passages are very lengthy; as we start it would definitely take a lot of time. So better keep those aside and try to attempt the remaining ones.

Questions (1-5 & 6-10) : Friends please excuse me for this…, as I didn’t even read the passages as time wasn’t sufficient in this verbal ability test. But by reading all the questions u can understand something to at least attempt which is done at the last of exam. [10 marks]

Questions (11-18) : Choose the correct sentence of the following:

There were given 4 options of different sentences with one correct sentence, we have to check prepositions & all parts of speech etc…

Each option was of two full lines, so it takes really long time to complete these, so one must be quick.

E.g.:  1 )  a) The actress decided to sue the sleazy tabloid for deformation of her character.
       b) The actress decided to sue the sleazy tabloid for defamation of her character.

2 )       a) Everyone knows that Hogwarts in the Harry Potter series is a mythical school
       b) Everyone knows that Hogwarts in the Harry Potter series is a legendary school

Questions (19 -26) : Conclusion / Inferences  from a small paragraph :

E.g.: 1) A Recent Survey of all auto accident victims in DOLE County found that, of the severely injured drivers and front-seat passengers, 80 percent were not wearing seat belts at the time of their accidents. This indicates that, by wearing seat belts, drivers and front seat passengers can greatly reduce their risk of being severely injured if they are in an auto accident.

A ) Of all the drivers and the front seat  passengers n the survey, more than 20 percent were wearing seat belts at the same time of their accidents.

B )Considerably more than 20 percent of drivers and front-seat passengers in dole county always wear seat belts when travelling by car.

C )More drivers and front seat passengers in the survey than rear seat passengers were  very severely injured.

D )More than half of the drivers and front seat passengers in the survey were not wearing seat belts at the same time of their accidents.

E )Most  of the Auto accidents reported to police in dole county do not involve any serious injury.

Questions(27 - 32) : Completion of sentences 4 options will be given. Preparation can be done from any GRE books, e.g.  Barrons,princetonn etc..,

Questions (33-40) : Sentence replacement,  A sentence will be given, & 4 options will be given. Though easy, they take a good time. So practicing them would help us better.

HR Interview:
Total of 700 people have taken the written test out of which 203 cleared & 157 have taken finally.

Infosys interview is the easiest interviews I suppose. Once clearing the written test is the toughest job. Once clearing this we have 90% chances of getting selected unless we maintain clear voice, quick response, and eye-contact. It took 20 - 30 minutes of the time. All general Questions were asked.

First I was asked to tell me abt my self,
Later I was questioned how am I managing my weaknesses?
I was given three puzzles, Very easy and we need no previous preparations for those asked.
At last he asked any questions?
Finally he wished me all the best.

At last after waiting continuously for 4 hours completely…, results were declared where I was selected.

One must concentrate on written only to get through Infosys.Where HR interview is very easy.All the best Guys, be 100% positive & the day will be yours.
